I was just about ready to call it quits for the night, we had done are part and the novelty had worn thin. Then a dancer walked in cloaked her small frame in feathers. She had energy, fast movement and dazzled with multiple pole tricks. My energy hiked as I watched her. How could it not, she was one of the few that had an arsenal of creative and different transitions. Unlike many dancers, who routinely magically spun around the pole with control and elegance but would just repeat the same beautiful movement multiple times through the 3 song set, this dancer repeated - nothing. It felt like watching a grand theatre. (Perhaps the grand, opera like music choice may have had something to do with it). I was truly mystified and energized. So after her set I was frantically clapping with the rest and dove for her poster, successfully. I was excited, she had not been introduced so this was my opportunity to find out who she was. (A thought on the mind many of the men around, whom all clamored around for the answer to the same question to my astonishment, the poster stated "Justice")

We had watched her a year or so ago at the same event. Wow, talk about a change. A year ago, her pole tricks were equally as impressive, but... she was oh, a bit too unnervingly flexible. Her act a year ago had a similarity to circ de soile. Too circus to warrent the fluit beauty of tonight. Over the year she had found her dance, and moved fluidly, beautifully. In that moment looking at the poster I realized the essence of what a great pole dancer has above the others. Or at least what I aspire toward. The element of a meaningful transition through dance. The dance, the part that ANY strength level, and ANY level can master and enhance by bringing out the meaning in the music with their own style. I realized this is what makes a dancer exceptional and I have since taken my own style and added it back into my instruction at Tantra. It is the element that Aradiafittness taught me, and I had given up at Tantra.
A week later in a level 101 Tantra class, my instructor stated... that I had a very Aradia style. We laughed together over it because as a past instructor at Aradiafittness, she was the only other one in the room who knew what this meant. Later that evening, a fellow student asked me if I was taking another type of dance class, as my style reflected it. The recognition felt good, and verified I was in the right direction.

One more word about Justice, who has evolved into a truly beautiful dancer? My boyfriend found her that night and informed her that I was very interested in the craft. She had recommended, Tantra studio. It's funny how that works out.

It is awesome to hear that you were at the ED4C event this year! Sadly I was unable to make this years event! Glad to hear you met Justice...a wonderful person as well as dancer! Quite the inspiration to new polers!
She is also the winner of Miss Pole Dance Canada...and is a prior student of mine as well as Tammy's from Tantra!
That level of pole is DEFINITELY attainable...just add some determination!
