Bad Press over the pole-dancing fitness trend

So this time headed on the web in search for bad press. It is always good to offer up the good and the bad, and lets face it, in 6 months you know what side of the fences I spin on. I caught a great article by chance and felt that it was time to tell the other side of the story.. \\

This is what I found:

"Pole dancing: Empowerment or porn?
Researchers question value of 'strippercise'
Amanda Ash, CanWest News Service
Published: Friday, January 04, 2008"

http://www.canada.com/victoriatimescolonist/news/life/story.html?id=ea46e639-d0d0-49c6-a8b5-29501e10e2b4

Is seemed like a promising headline full of romance novel dirt...that is until you read the article... which praises everything from the addiction of pole dancing to it health benefits and ability to inspire confidence. Better luck next time I guess.

NYC businessman sues club, claiming stripper injured him during lap dance

NEW YORK - A New York businessman claims in a lawsuit that he was injured when a stripper giving him a lap dance swiveled and smacked him in the face with the heel of her shoe.

I must say this seemed negative, but really?? reading further I discovered a lack of something... substance. No tragedy...just a bit of old fashioned greed and embarrassment, or so I assume, as it details little other then the price he paid to get into his private dance.

Family groups have expressed serious concern children as young as seven are taking pole-dancing classes.
By ninemsn staff

Family groups have expressed serious concern after it was revealed children as young as seven are taking pole-dancing classes.
The pole-dancing trend has spread across Australia in recent years, with teens and pre-teens among those attending pole fitness classes.

Sorry to ruin it, but you would not be reading on if you did not want me to....it was the fight of a young girl, with an illness story and how this positive fitness program returned her strength.

I mentioned this next one subjectively in my last blog, but it deserves its moment in the spotlight.

pole dance game family
Mother of two Karen Gallimore was searching for Christmas gifts for her two daughters, Laura 10, and Sarah, 11, when she came across the 'toy'
Tesco has been forced to remove a pole-dancing kit from the toys and games section of its website after it was accused of "destroying children's innocence".

In the end it falls to the misinterpretation of what a toy can be. Perhaps it was a staff shelving the product incorrectly...I hope so because if not then the parents are not too swift. (I hope I am not too harsh... the 51 comments will support me)

Subway pole dancers enrage MTA

The N train may need to be changed to the NC-17 and the L could be dubbed the lap dance express.

I think we have all watched this video, if not here it is again.

Headline sounds like a complaint... again misleading...it just publicizes the stunt, and gives that little background to mask the video human. As for the outrage, they only quote one spokesperson, that was not even on the train at the time. I guess no one on that subway was too unhappy with the free entertainment.

Well enough for tonight...someone out there say something negative about pole dancing already. There only thousands of sites that are ready and willing to kick pole dancing's @#^%, and just as many to take them on stilettos and all.

Everyone has their favorite way of using the internet. Many of us search to find what we want, click in to a specific website, read what’s available and click out. That’s not necessarily a bad thing because it’s efficient. We learn to tune out things we don’t need and go straight for what’s essential.

Not sure where to post this but I wanted to ask if anyone has heard of National Clicks?

Can someone help me find it?

Overheard some co-workers talking about it all week but didn't have time to ask so I thought I would post it here to see if someone could help me out.

Seems to be getting alot of buzz right now.

Thanks
